Fast MA Line is a free MT4 (Metatrader 4) indicator that displays a trend channel based on the TMA and ATR technical indicators.
The indicator appears in the main MT4 chart window as a white colored trend channel.
Trading a trend channel works as follows:
- Look to buy at the lower trend channel line whenever the trend channel is sloping up (bullish trend).
- Look to sell at the upper trend channel line whenever the trend channel is sloping down (bearish trend).
The Fast MA Line indicator can be used for both trade entry and exit, or as an additional confirmation filter for other strategies and systems.
The indicator works equally well on all currency pairs (majors, minors and exotic) and shows promising results if used correctly.

Fast MA Line + Accelerator Oscillator Intraday Strategy (MT4)
Introduction
This intraday trading strategy uses the Fast MA Line (MT4) to identify trend channels and the Accelerator Oscillator (MT4) to confirm momentum before entering trades.
The Fast MA Line gives a dynamic channel showing potential support and resistance zones, while the Accelerator Oscillator filters entries only when momentum aligns with the trend.
The method works well on 5-minute and 15-minute charts for intraday trading.
It is best applied during high-liquidity periods such as the London session or the New York open.
It suits traders who prefer defined entries and exits within the same day, rather than holding positions overnight.
Setup
Add the Fast MA Line indicator to your MT4 chart with default settings.
It will plot a channel line showing trend direction. Add the Accelerator Oscillator below your chart.
Use major pairs like EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY, or USDCAD for tight spreads and smoother execution.
Buy Entry Rules
- The Fast MA Line trend channel is sloping upward (bullish trend).
- Price touches or slightly dips below the lower channel line of the Fast MA Line — this is your buy zone.
- Accelerator Oscillator is green or turns from red to green on the same or previous candle, confirming bullish momentum.
- Enter a market buy on the candle close after both conditions align.
- Stop loss: a few pips below the most recent swing low or below the channel line (M5: 10–15 pips, M15: 15–25 pips).
- Take profit: first target at 1× risk. Second target at 2× risk or trail until the Accelerator Oscillator prints a red bar.
Sell Entry Rules
- The Fast MA Line trend channel is sloping downward (bearish trend).
- Price touches or slightly rises to the upper channel line of the Fast MA Line — this is your sell zone.
- Accelerator Oscillator is red or turns from green to red on the same or previous candle, confirming bearish momentum.
- Enter a market sell on the candle close after both conditions align.
- Stop loss: a few pips above the most recent swing high or above the channel line (M5: 10–15 pips, M15: 15–25 pips).
- Take profit: first target at 1× risk. Second target at 2× risk or trail until the Accelerator Oscillator prints a green bar.

Case Study 1 — EURUSD 15-Minute Intraday Long
During the London session, the Fast MA Line channel was sloping upward.
Price dipped to the lower channel at 1.1050.
The Accelerator Oscillator turned green on the same candle.
A buy was entered at 1.1052 with a stop at 1.1037 (15 pips risk). TP1 at 1× risk (1.1067) was hit in 30 minutes.
The second half was trailed and exited at 1.1082 (30 pips) when Accelerator printed red.
Case Study 2 — GBPUSD 5-Minute Short
In the New York morning, the Fast MA Line channel sloped downward.
Price reached the upper channel line at 1.2610.
Accelerator Oscillator printed red, confirming bearish momentum.
A short was entered at 1.2608 with SL at 1.2620 (12 pips risk).
TP1 at 1.2596 (12 pips) hit quickly, and the remainder exited at 1.2584 (24 pips) as Accelerator turned green.
Strategy Tips
- Focus on active sessions to get clean moves. Avoid low-liquidity hours.
- Wait for clear confirmation from the Accelerator Oscillator before entering. Do not pre-empt the signal.
- Keep risk per trade low (0.5%–1%) due to the fast nature of intraday moves.
- Move stop loss to break even after TP1 to protect capital.
- Backtest the combination on your broker’s data to fine-tune stop and target levels.
- Close all trades by the end of your trading session to avoid overnight risk.
By combining the Fast MA Line channel zones with momentum confirmation from the Accelerator Oscillator, you get a structured intraday trading approach that filters noise and focuses on high-probability setups.
